Earlier this month, Melting Pot announced that the brand is actively scouting Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs, naming the metro area a target for franchise development.
Why NYC and why now? The website NerdWallet ranks New York as the 5th most entrepreneurial state in the country, based on an analysis of the number, size, and increased number of SBA loans; venture capital funding and the growth of small business population for each state. Additionally, the number of restaurants in Brooklyn grew 10 percent at the start of fiscal year 2014, according to the health department (Manhattan saw a 6 percent rise), marking a significant opportunity for Melting Pot to open in the market.
“World-known sights and cultural offerings are just a few things that make Manhattan such an attractive place to live and visit,” said Dan Stone, chief business & people development officer at Front Burner. “With over two million small businesses prospering in New York, it’s no secret that Melting Pot wants to join the ranks and expand its unique fondue style dining experience to the city’s many residents and visitors alike. We’re extremely interested in the popular Brooklyn borough amongst other surrounding areas, and look forward to meeting with potential candidates in NYC.”
