The Melting Pot Featured as a Chain Innovator in FE&S Magazine

Foodservice Equipment & Supplies (FE&S) Magazine is an award-winning publication that discusses current challenges within the food service industry, and how leading businesses are facing those challenges head-on. We’re excited to share that The Melting Pot was recently featured in FE&S Magazine as a “Chain Innovator” for their February 2019 issue!

As the culmination to an interview series with their sister publication, Restaurant Development + Design, the FE&S article highlights how we’ve been able to successfully meet the demands of a changing industry. It’s because we’re always striving to improve our dining experiences – and to create new ones that will bring our guests back for more.

Creating New Restaurant Experiences

Because The Melting Pot was founded on the unique dining tradition of fondue, we’ve already been creating memorable guest experiences for more than 40 years. Of course, we’ve also faced a difficult challenge precisely because of our focus on guest experiences: Many diners have viewed The Melting Pot primarily as a place for special occasions and long, full-service meals.

So how did we tackle this challenge? By offering new dining options and restaurant design updates that still play into our brand identity, we’ve been able to broaden our reach with future guests over the last few years. To create more of an everyday guest experience, we recently added faster “No Pot Required” items to our lunch and special menus, like paninis made with our signature scrumptious cheeses.

We’ve also upgraded our restaurant design to keep pace with consumers’ interests, adding a front-of-house “chocolate and cheese bar” where customers can watch the melting process for both ingredients. In another section of the new layout, a chic bar allows guests to try wine tasting flights and connect over signature happy-hour drinks. Both of these new areas have increased group interaction at our restaurants, and encouraged diners to branch out from the traditional full-service meal.
