What I love about being a franchisee for this brand, working for this brand, being apart of it is family and belonging. You truly do gain a family not just with your immediate store but with this entire Melting Pot community. The corporate support center along with fellow franchisees celebrate your victories with you. You never feel like you're going through it alone.Transcript
The first thing that I loved about The Melting Pot was the fact that there was no kitchen equipment... It was the most unique concept that I had ever experienced.Transcript
I fell in love with the concept so it actually had my heart before it had my work and my brain and my efforts...I'm just as passionate about what we do, and that's 23 years later.
I purchased an existing The Melting Pot franchise in Grand Rapids, MI, commencing April, 2014. This restaurant is a lot of fun as we focus on delivering the 'Perfect Night Out' to our guests. I also volunteered for The Melting Pot's Strategic Partnership Committee and was accepted as one of the newest franchisees. I have been around franchising for over 20 years, and I find the The Melting Pot Restaurant Support Center, which includes The Melting Pot ownership and all senior executives really listen to the franchisees, value us and partner with us. What a blast!
I worked at The Melting Pot in Tallahassee, Florida during college. After college, I worked for a state legislator in New York City. Believe it or not, I found a lack of things to do in New York City - there wasn't a fun place to take anybody out for dates. And I kept thinking 'Wow, The Melting Pot would be great up here in the Northeast'. That's when I decided to inquire about the franchise. I found out that Washington, DC was an available site, so I moved to Washington. Today I'm involved with six locations and I have plans for more growth in the Washington, DC area before I move on to other cities in other areas of the country. The Melting Pot differs from other restaurant franchises because of the low overhead and the ease of operation. The Melting Pot corporate office makes it easy for the operators. They provide all the top of the line food we need to operate our restaurants. The only thing franchise operators have to do is give good service. And if you love your job, good service is easy.
Previously, I was a bank manager and worked part-time at a Melting Pot on weekends in Coral Springs. That's where I met my partner. I went to North Miami Beach to manage the restaurant. I liked the idea, loved the concept, and got involved in it. The owners gave us control of the restaurant, and we saw everything from the inside. We met with everybody and decided to be franchisees for a career. It was fun; it was good; it made money. The people who we worked for were great and the franchise was terrific. Today we own and operate three locations and my goal is to open up two more Melting Pots in the Chicago area in the future.I believe the key factors required to succeed in the franchise business are: stability, ease of operation, good execution and a unique, quality product. The Melting Pot has all of these attributes .
I have been a The Melting Pot Franchisee for over five years. I opened my first location in Albany NY, and within the following three years, I successfully opened in Poughkeepsie and Syracuse, NY. I would not have been able to do this without Melting Pot's support in all aspects of my business; this is actually the primary reason I continue to grow with the brand. When you become a franchisee, you become part of the The Melting Pot family and like all families, they want you to succeed. My continued expansion within the brand was due to their diligent commitment to serve franchisees. Due to their willingness to listen, collaboration with The Melting Pot is easy. And while we may not always agree on everything, they have always been willing to explore feedback provided by the franchisees with sound research-based decisions.
The core principles and values of The Melting Pot organization matched exactly what I was looking for in a business. I have always been treated fairly and respectfully from everyone at The Melting Pot. The home office’s principle of “Family & Belonging” has truly allowed my relationship to go beyond just business and grow into a working family relationship. Having grown up in the restaurant industry, becoming a franchise owner was easy due to the culture and support that exist at the The Melting Pot. It has truly changed my life and given me opportunities that I never even realized were possible.
